Permnanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.
The Building Design Consultancy is an energetic and forward-thinking group of professionals tasked with the design, project management & delivery of a wide variety of construction projects.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer work under the direction of the Principal Quantity Surveyor/Framework Manager and Principal Mechanical Engineer on the design and management of a wide variety of construction related projects together with provision of technical inspections and advice to key stakeholders.
You will be required to maintain effective liaison with other professionals and key stakeholders and assist with the development and management of projects as required.
Applicants should be qualified to Degree level in a relevant subject or be able to evidence the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience.
It is essential that applicants are computer literate and have proven knowledge & capability of AutoCAD, Hevacomp & NBS software packages and have a sound knowledge and working experience of dealing with health and safety issues (including CDM and asbestos regulations).
Applicants should be able to work independently, under pressure and to deadlines.
A valid Driving Licence and the use of a car is essential as the position involves travel around the Borough, for which an appropriate allowance is payable.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
